Ryan Wilsdon, son of SLK club member Robert Wilsdon, is based in Bangor Northern Ireland, attends the Northern Regional College in Newtownabbey, County Antrim. While completing year 2 of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice, Ryan was asked to create a portfolio of digital media skills including a website, VFX and motion graphics, video, digital audio and graphic design. For his video project, Ryan asked if he could produce a short advertising video for the Mercedes-Benz SLK club. Ryan not only loves SLKs but attended the Beaulieu Simply Mercedes event last August 2022 with his father and got to see and meet SLK cars and their owners. During April 2023, Ryan produced and directed the short 30 second advert based around his own brief ‘darkness into light’ and ‘cool and fun’. Ryan also worked with his father on the music production accompanying the video helping to shape and create the finished result. After completing the video and with approval of the club administrators, the video was shared on the club’s Facebook page. Ryan received lots of very encouraging feedback from the club members. Ryan is moving on to higher education at Ulster University this September studying BDes in Interaction Design. His father and club member Robert Wilsdon said ‘I am extremely proud of Ryan and delighted with the result of his video. It is so rewarding to read the comments from our club members and already Ryan and I have been talking about how we could go further with more video/graphics to support the good work the SLK club do’
