Thank you to all who voted for my Red Baron photo. I had turned into a car park and the stunning sunset just had to be captured. It was taken with a 2 1/4 Hasselblad with a f1 shutter…… Seriously, I just grabbed my iPhone.😂

In 2014 I was looking at a red 55 R171 online and before I could buy it I ended up in hospital and unable to drive for 3 months. I casually looked at eBay and the car was still for sale. Phoned the dealer, told him I was on my way to buy it. 3 hrs later I got from Isle of Wight to Berkshire and his partner had sold it! Bought a 300 AMG Designo instead but really wanted a 55. In 2017 the Red Baron appeared in a specialist car dealer in Mansfield. Just what I wanted. A 2012 R172 AMG 55 with nearly every extra you could buy. I drove up, part-exed and drove home happy as a pig in poo.

What a car! Brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Did a Europe trip of 2000 miles last year with a visit to the AMG factory in Affalterbach and mountain passes in Switzerland.
