The 2023 Custard Run was timed to coincide with the South Wales Car Festival where the Club would have a club stand. For those of you not familiar with the Custard Run, this tour pays homage to the release from Covid lockdown. When we were only allowed to go out for essentials, a member posted a photo of an SLK boot full of tins of custard, then every time people went shopping they posted their photos with the obligatory tin of Custard. The someone said why don’t we have a drive out and an overnight stay and dinner to celebrate, and the Custard run was born. This year 33 cars and 51 people started from London and Barnsley and joined together for Lunch in Tewkesbury before setting off on a scenic drive over the Brecon’s to Aberavon Beach in South Wales for an overnight stay and dinner.
